• A mixologist is a professional who specializes in creating cocktails and mixed drinks. They are typically employed in bars, restaurants and hotels, they may work as part of a team or as an independent consultant. Mixologists are knowledgeable about different types of spirits, mixers, garnishes and they use this knowledge to create unique as well as flavorful cocktails.

Job Responsibilities

• Creating drinks menu and designing signature cocktails.
• Ensuring that all drinks are prepared to the highest standards.
• Training other bartenders and staff members on how to mix drinks properly.
• Taking orders, mixing drinks, and acting as cashier.
• Memorizing all drink recipes and making them quickly.
• Chatting with customers, lending a listening ear, and telling stories.
• Overseeing other bar team members.
• Keeping an inventory, ordering supplies, and creating menus.

Skills and Abilities

• Candidates should have completed a certificate in a related field with a minimum aggregate score of 50% from a recognized university.
• Aspirants may also need to clear an entrance exam such as CAT, MAT or XAT depending on the college or university's admission requirements.
